"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fools despise wisdom and
instruction." -Proverbs 1:7 But what does this mean?
In my view, it means that when one accepts all that is said about YHWH, one
remains in ignorant bliss. If I were to remain as I were, believing that "God"
protects the people of his covenant while casting those outside the covenant
into the lake of fire, it would be easy for me to conclude that I am among the
people of the covenant, and to be comfortable in that knowledge.
The fear begins when I realize that I am not in that covenant. The fear, for
me, began when I learned that the standard of salvation YHWH placed within his
covenant is impossible. YHWH is a deceiver. He pretends to work in the interest
of man, but he hates man. [Genesis 6:7] He wants to destroy man, and he bars
man from the eternal life which is his destiny. [Genesis 3:22]

We ought to fear an entity like that, whose power is beyond our comprehension.
Where Christians make a huge emotional disconnect, however, is in implying
that we are able to convert that fear into love for YHWH. How can you love
that which you fear? It is impossible. The beginning of Wisdom is the beginning
of our walk with Her. We begin to walk towards Her, and away from YHWH, when
we realize that YHWH condemns us.
We take our first steps in faith when we walk away from the illusion, like a
modern Garden of Eden, that YHWH acts in our best interest. Fear dissolves
this facade, and we see it for what it is: A deception. It is as was
demonstrated quite well in The Matrix: The world of illusion is removed from
our eyes, and we see reality for what it is. And then, in faith, we see reality
for what it could be...
